The situation in Kenya
- Kenya has nearly 50 million inhabitants, and almost half are under 18 years old.
- Of these, 3 million are orphans, many due to HIV.
- In Cannan, 39 of these children have found a home.
- 14% of school-age children are out of school. Of those who attend, 9 out of 10 living in poverty do not complete their basic education.
- Extreme poverty , child labour and early marriages limit their future opportunities.
Our Work
- Healthcare : Our main mission at Lourdes Moreno is to provide healthcare to the children of Cannan.
- Repairs and Materials : We carry out repairs at the orphanage and provide essential materials.
- Row Zero : In addition to our ongoing support, we travel to Kenya every year to experience the situation at the Cannan Orphanage firsthand. During these trips, we stock the pantry, repair broken things, and provide essential materials. This helps us better understand the day-to-day needs and continue to improve our support.
