How to hydrate your skin before applying makeup.
Hydrating your skin is just as important, if not more so, than applying makeup correctly to ensure the final result is a dazzling look. You must always hydrate your skin before applying makeup; otherwise, the products will not adhere well, dry or flaky patches may appear, and even worse, it can accelerate the aging process of your skin.
Take note of these 3 steps:
Step 1
Cleanse your face, neck, and décolletage thoroughly. If you are applying makeup in the morning, perform a cleanse with the Cleansing Mousse. If it is in the evening, use the Cleansing Oil first, followed by the Cleansing Mousse.
Step 2
Now apply the Hydrating Essence and, while the skin is still damp, follow with the Hyaluronic3 Plus on your face, neck, and décolletage. If you do not use hyaluronic acid, this is the step for Vitamin C.
Step 3
Next, apply the Illuminating or Regenerating with DMAE moisturizer. DO NOT FORGET TO APPLY SUNSCREEN DURING THE DAY.
A tip: to apply it, it is best to start at the base of the neck and move upwards toward the face, spreading it across all areas using upward strokes. This way, you firm the skin while helping it stay smooth.
Using moisturizers will help your makeup stay intact for longer, but most importantly, it will help your skin retain water to prevent dryness and stay protected against external aggressors.
Although these are the three steps in a super-basic routine to prepare the skin for makeup, we recommend paying special attention to the eye contour area as well. The skin in this part of the face is very delicate and sensitive, and to prevent premature aging, the ideal practice is to apply a specific eye cream using light taps around the eyes. This will provide the hydration it needs to remain youthful. You can use the Flash Contour (it will help reduce puffiness) and then a specific eye contour cream before your moisturizer.
